I want to make a vase similar to this, at least the same shape, but instead make a texure on the neck and stain that part. Then put glaze on the bottom.

you know chris.. I like this. I saw you making your rendition of a piece like this and it looked nice. You should be careful when trying to throw this because it will take patience (not saying that I know how to throw but just a heads up). I like that you are thinking of putting the stain on the top and glaze on the bottom. Otherwise I would be scared that the glaze would run down, onto the stain
